Strong Winds

‘Strong Winds' is a reworking of an older canvas. Sometimes it takes a year or so of adding layers on to a painting before it gets to a stage I like.  It's often the deadline of having a sale that pushes me on to finish up all these half done pieces in the back of the studio - I prefer to do brand new pieces for gallery shows. This one is a very North Sea painting, the sky cloudy but luminous, the water frothing in the air.
